Bariatric Boost- Fresh Perspectives, Regain, Online Support

Hi Reader,

We all need a little boost along our bariatric journey and this week, we have three things to share with you- fresh perspectives (podcast), regain struggles (community), and a free, Instagram event (support).

We packed this weeks newsletter with links out to helpful resources, so spend some time exploring!

The BariNation Podcast

Last week, we launched a new series called The Men's Roundtable, hosted by Jason Smith. This special series will bring you fresh perspectives from the men of the community better to understand their unique perspectives, needs, and celebrations. Sometimes, a fresh voice is all that is needed to inspire our own bariatric journey!

Regain

The more accurate term is "weight reoccurrence" because it speaks to the chronic and lifelong nature of the disease of obesity.

Many patients experience weight recurrence, even when they are doing everything right. It is a frustrating and scary part of our journey, but it does not have to lead to isolation, shame and judgement.

This week, April publically shared her struggle with regain and other health issues that are dominating her world at the moment. She took time to understand what was happening and acknowledge that this is the disease playing a prominate role in her life again.

She is holding space for the moment and outlining her steps to address it. Last week, she attended the Kristie DiLaura Regain Support Group in BariNation and left feeling more hopeful and inspired to start implementing her regain game plan!
